Two people fled the scene of an accident in Northwest Bexar County early Thursday morning.

Sheriff's deputies said the driver was spotted running a stop sign around 2:30 a.m.

Deputies began to follow the car, but the driver sped off and a chase ensued.

The driver lost control of the car and crashed at the intersection of Babcock and Carriage Tree.

The driver and passenger abandoned the car and fled on foot, deputies said.

As of 7 a.m., deputies had not confirmed if the pair was caught. There was also no word why they ran.
