Her life-long dream has been to be a nurse and on Thursday, 17-year-old Aissa Gonzalez got her wish.
The McAllen, Texas, teen had her wish granted to be a nurse at San Antonio Military Medical Center, thanks to the Make-a-Wish Foundation.
The event began with a short swearing in.
Gonzalez was then given a stethoscope, blood pressure cuff and a set of her very own dog tags.
She spent the day shadowing nurses, then got a chance to take a care of a few young patients.
Gonzalez said after living with epilepsy and having so many nurses by her side, she wants to give back.
"I get sick a lot. I want to help people. I feel really good when I help other people. Life is a challenge, but I never gave up," Gonzalez said.
Gonzalez said she hopes to one day become a real nurse.
