Ex-employee accused of stealing from Northeast San Antonio business
San Antonio police: Online records show David Alonzo pawned stolen items
David Alonzo, 34, a former employee of a Northeast Side landscaping company, is accused of selling items stolen during a break-in at the business in December.
San Antonio police arrested Alonzo Wednesday on a charge of theft.
An arrest affidavit stated that managers at The Brickman Group reported a burglary of the business on Dec. 26, although the crime is believed to have happened Dec. 21.
The affidavit stated that more than $16,000 worth of equipment was loaded onto a trailer, also belonging to the company, and taken from their property.
Detectives said they searched an online database and discovered that Alonzo, a former employee, had sold about $2,500 worth of the stolen items to a pawn shop.
The affidavit stated that they also found records showing a second ex-employee had also pawned some of the stolen items at the same pawn shop. However, it does not indicate if that person also faces charges.
