Ex-parochial teacher in student sex case turns himself in

A former basketball coach at New Braunfels Christian Academy who is accused of having an improper relationship with a student has turned himself in to police, authorities said.

According to police, Leon Sneed, 44, surrendered to authorities at the Bexar County Jail at about 2:50 p.m.

The arrest warrant was issued yesterday by New Braunfels Police.

School officials told police that Sneed may have been involved in a sexual relationship with a student during the latter part of last school year while he was coaching at the academy.
