Family mourns passenger killed in drunken driving accident
Victim identified as Justin Lambaria
The family of a man killed in a fatal drunk driving accident is mourning their loved one.
Bexar deputies said Justin Lambaria, 26, died when the car in which he was a passenger flipped into a creek on Shaenfield Road around 1:15 a.m. Thursday morning.
Rachel Camarano, Lambaria's aunt, said the family got the news just hours after the crash, but is still in shock.
"He was taken so soon from all of us," said Camarano. "We will love him and miss him."
Camarano said that Lambaria leaves behind two children that he loved very much.
"Justin was a very loving son, brother, uncle, grandson, cousin," said Camarano. "He was an absolutely wonderful father."
The driver was identified by family members as 26-year-old Jordan Lopez. Authorities said he was pulled out of the car and taken to University Hospital. He is expected to recover.
Sheriff officials said Lopez lost control of the black Honda he was driving when he hit the concrete median.
According to investigators, the car drove off the roadway before crashing into the creek.
The officer on the scene said he detected alcohol on Lopez's breath.
Officials said Lopez was charged with intoxication manslaughter while he was at the hospital and that his bond has been set at $50,000.
"We're kind of just waiting for him to walk in that door and pretend this is not real," said Camarano. "But they say he's in God's hands now and that's what's going to help us get through this."
