A fast-moving fire swept through a mobile home in South Bexar County Monday evening.

Four different area fire departments responded to the call around 6 p.m. in the 21000 block of Highway 281 South.

Crews worked quickly to put out the flames but had some difficulty because the closest hydrant was half a mile down the road so fire crews had to use tankers to shuttle water.

The family inside got out safe, but fire officials said the home is a total loss. A cause was unknown Monday evening.
