Fire crews were called back to a popular Mexican restaurant to put out a fire that reignited early Monday morning.

Apetito's in the 8000 block of Marbach on the West Side caught fire Sunday afternoon around 5 p.m.

Firefighters put out the flames but had to go back around 10 p.m. when hot spots flared up.

Crews put out the fire again and stayed on the scene to monitor the situation until 6 a.m. Monday.

Officials said hot spots are common in structure fires where heat gets trapped in the crevices of the building.

The restaurant was not open when the fire started on Sunday. A cause or damage estimates were not released.
