SAN ANTONIO -

A fast-moving fire left two people homeless and destroyed a mobile home on FM 1937 and Second Street in south Bexar County early Monday morning.

The Bexar County fire marshal said flames broke out around 2 a.m. No one was inside at the time, but neighbors called the fire department, Bexar County fire officials said.

A woman who lives nearby said she heard a pop and boom before the structure went up in smoke. She said it burned for about two hours.

Firefighters from three departments battled the flames. They used tanker trucks to transport water to the fire because the nearest fire hydrant was across the highway.

Two adults who lived in the mobile home were displaced by the fire. Bexar County fire officials did not give a cause for the blaze.
