First payment of split property tax in Bexar County due Nov. 30
Bexar County Tax Assessor-Collector Sylvia S. Romo is reminding taxpayers, there is still time to take advantage of the split payment plan and reduce the burden of paying the full property tax bill at once.
“The option to make two installment payments is cost effective and simple,” Romo said.
Taxpayers who take advantage of the split payment option avoid paying penalty and interest charges if both payments are made by the legally mandated deadlines of November 30 and June 30 of the following year.
The downtown office of the Tax Assessor-Collector located at 233 N. Pecos will, once again, have two curbside drop boxes available from 7:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Friday, November 30. Customers can drop off payments near the office entrance at the corner of West Martin and in front of the Vista Verde Plaza on the access road. All lobbies will be open from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.
If residents need more information or want to confirm the amount due, they are urged to visit the website www.bexar.org/tax or call the Tax Office at (210) 335-2251. Payments also may be made online by credit card or e-check through the Tax Office website or by phone with a credit card by calling (888) 852-3572.
Credit card payments are now accepted at all office locations. A processing fee is charged by the third party service provider for all credit card and e-check payments.
