SAN ANTONIO -

A former middle school teacher in the Northside Independent School district was sentenced to 10 years in prison Tuesday.

Charges against Lucinda Caldwell, 40, were reduced from sexual assault of a child to indecency with a child.

According to court documents, Caldwell had sex with a 12-year-old boy in a motel in August of 2001.

After the sentencing, 437th District Court Judge Lori Valenzuela said that she would retain jurisdiction in the case, meaning that she can free Caldwell on shock probation at a later date.
