For the 25th year, Rev. Joe Sullivan will offer free Valentine's Day mass weddings on the steps of the Bexar County Courthouse on Feb. 14.

The wedding ceremonies will be held on the north side of the courthouse, located at 100 Dolorosa St, and are scheduled to begin at 12:01 a.m. on Valentine's Day.  Ceremonies will also be held at 10 a.m., noon, 2 p.m., and 4 p.m.

Couples who wish to participate in the mass weddings are required to obtain a marriage license 72 hours prior to Feb. 14. 

Exceptions may be made for applicants who are members of the U.S. military and are on active duty, applicants complete a premarital education course approved by the state of Texas and provide the course completion certificate to the Bexar County Clerk, or a judge waives the waiting period for a good cause.

Marriage licenses can be obtained from the Bexar County Clerk's Office on the first floor of the Paul Elizondo Tower, located at 101 W. Nueva St.  The fee for a marriage license is $66 (cash only).  Both applicants are required to provide proof of identity and age, as well as their Social Security numbers.
