SAN ANTONIO -

The 53-year-old grandmother who now faces two counts of intoxication manslaughter in Sunday’s double fatality on Highway 90 had two previous DWI arrests, according to public records.

Ruby Marie Barrera-Bukvasevic of San Antonio was granted probation after being arrested in 1992 and 2003 for driving while intoxicated, then again in 2006 for driving with an invalid license.

San Antonio police said Bukvasevic’s westbound vehicle crashed through a guardrail just before 2 a.m. Sunday, slamming into an eastbound car driven by 48-year-old Corinne Hollingsworth, of Round Rock.

Both Hollingsworth and her 48-year-old front-seat passenger, Raquel DeLeon Cooney, were killed by the impact.

The wreck occurred within sight of the VIA Transit Center on Highway 90.

Bukvasevic remains in the Bexar County Jail under bonds that total $200,000.
