SEGUIN, Texas -

Guadalupe County Sheriff’s officers recovered more than 1,000 of marijuana and arrested three suspects early Tuesday morning.

Deputy Eddie Flores said the suspects led them on an off-road chase after refusing to stop when officers tried to pull them over on Interstate 10 East.

Two men -- Alfredo Corona, 34, and Esteban Lopez Junior, 25 -- were arrested after they abandoned their utility vehicle when it became stuck in a creek on private property following a chase.

A woman, identified as Valerie Ann Vaqueres, of San Antonio, was also arrested.

She was in another vehicle that had been accompanying the men on I-10.

All three suspects were turned over to federal authorities and are expected to face federal conspiracy and drug possession charges.
