Gunfire at West Side home wounds toddler, kills father
San Antonio police: Shots fired after dispute at another location
A 2-year-old girl is being treated for a gunshot wound to her wrist after shots were fired into her home in the 200 block of Remolino Street. Her father, meanwhile, died after being shot outside the home.
San Antonio police said the shots were fired shortly after 1 a.m. Wednesday, and came as the result of an earlier dispute at a location nearby.
A detective at the scene said someone fired shots into a bedroom of a home on Remolino Street where a man involved in the dispute usually sleeps.
At least one of the shots hit that man’s 2-year-old daughter, wounding her in the wrist.
The man happened to be outside at the time and chased after the shooter, detectives said.
He was shot in the middle of the street about 50 yards from his home and died, police said. He was 30-years-old, according to a detective. His name has not been released.
San Antonio police took several witnesses into custody for questioning. They said they do have some possible leads on the shooter.
