SAN ANTONIO -

Who would have thought that I would have made it this far into the contest? Not me.

This journey that I am on has been amazing! As many of you know, reaching out for help with my weight was the hardest thing to do, but since doing that I have received a tremendous amount of support. Not only are my friends and family supportive but the city of San Antonio.

I am required to write blogs, and as we all know, they are open to the public for all to read. Well, I must say that there are folks who I have never met who are very supportive through their comments. Not only am I getting support from the blog site, but as I walk into my local HEB in the Deco district I get words of encouragement from staff and customers! This feeling is great and it gives me the motivation to continue to press forward.

As we all know, making a lifestyle change doesn’t come easy; I have had some challenges. One challenge is fighting the urge for fast food. At Fit Camp were we told by a motivational speaker that we must prioritize our time in order to successful in this journey - and he was right. Meal preparation is key to fighting the urge to get fast food. Yes, the cravings are there, but if I plan ahead and prepare my meals on Sunday for the week to come, I can have them conveniently waiting for me at home when I get back from work. No more needing to go through the drive thru and make an unhealthy decision.

One thing that has surprised me is how much I love exercising. I now work out about an hour a day, 6 days a week - and I enjoy it. I have been blessed with a friend, Meagan of Nu-U Fitness, who is guiding me along the way by teaching proper exercise techniques. Having been exercising 6 days and eating a healthy diet I am proud to say that I have lost 15 pounds since Fit Camp, and as Meagan said, “There’s more to come.”

For those following me and supporting me, I just want to say thank you! I read every comment and it pushes me to work harder!
