SAN ANTONIO -

It's hard to imagine that my life changed six weeks ago at Fit Camp.

I'm proud of the commitment that I've made to myself.

Every morning, I wake up proud of my decision to put myself out there and apply for HEB's Slim Down Showdown.

However, there are times when I want to take a day off from the gym and eat like I did in the past.

Now that graduate school is in full swing again, I find myself having to prioritize my new way of life.

"Mind over matter" is a simple statement that has brought on a new meaning to me thanks to HEB's Slimdown Showdown. That's what this lifestyle change is really all about.

I have convinced myself that the pain from pushing myself during workouts is only temporary. Deciding that I can live the life I've imagined is the best thing that I've ever done.

Halfway through this life-changing experience, I have gone through an array of emotions. I started off anxious yet embarrassed.

Now I am proud and excited to see how much further I can push my body. I have had to alter my workouts because it takes my heart rate longer to get into the target zone.

None of this is easy, but it's possible. I am living proof!

I am proud to say that I've reached my first goal of losing 20 pounds! I am currently down 25 pounds and I don't plan on stopping anytime soon! I love the changes that I'm making and watching my body transform.

I am so thankful for this opportunity! I value each and every one of my supporters and followers at heb.com/slimdown. Please continue to follow my journey and encourage me along the way!
