Step inside Hedrick's Barber Shop on Rittiman, and you're not only stepping in for a haircut, you're also stepping into a bit of history.
81-year-old twins Harry and Harold Hedrick have been cutting hair in the Alamo City for more than 60 years, beginning their careers at the age of 17.
"We're in the Guinness Book of Records that we've been cutting hair now for 62 years with a license,” said Harry Hedrick, who is just 20 minutes younger than his twin brother. “There's a lot of barbers out there that are older than we are, but we started at 17 and it's pretty hard to beat us because we've done it all our lives."
Both Harry and Harold have served countless customers, from visitors just passing through, to some of San Antonio's more well-known residents.
"Shaquille O'Neal was one of our customers," said Harold. “He was in high school and he also came over here when he was at LSU in college, and he'd come home. Of course, we would cut his hair."
And after a lifetime of cutting hair, Harry and Harold say they're not done yet.
The duo says they're looking forward to many more years and many more heads of hair to pass through their shop.
"As long as we have our good health, we'll continue barbering,” said Harold. “It's been good, at least I'm working."
Hedrick's barber shop is located at Rittiman and Harry Wurzbach, right next to Longhorn Cafe.
