Improvements to the interchange at Highway 281 and Loop 1604 are meant to make traffic move more smoothly through the area, but construction is making it, at times, a nightmare to navigate.
"We'll avoid this intersection as much as possible and find other ways around," said Joe Hoffman, a resident who lives nearby.
Businesses at all four corners have felt the pinch.
"We do a lot of promotions to get guests in here and they love the spa. Its a wonderful place, but it is affecting us in a negative way for getting new members," said Valerie Roderick, manager at Planet Beach Spa.
Not all business are hurting. Some that have a unique niche are doing well.
"They still come. We still have some of the best prices in this particular area. We're one of the best music stores in this area. So they still come out here and they'll brave the traffic no matter what," said Jeslene Cruz, manager of Hillje Music.
Either way, businesses at this intersection will be relieved when the construction is completed.
"So much. You would not believe. We're so excited about it. Bring it," said Roderick.
