SAN ANTONIO -

A woman was killed, another was critically injured and the drunken driving suspect was arrested early Sunday after she fled the scene, said San Antonio police.

Police said the women were crossing an intersection near the bar in the 1200 block of South General McMullen when the vehicle struck them.

One of the victims died at the scene. He name has not been released. The other victim was taken to University Hospital in critical condition.

A witness followed the vehicle and helped police track down the driver.

The driver, identified as 29-year-old Marcela Roman, was arrested and is expected to be charged with intoxication manslaughter, fleeing the scene and failing to stop and render aid.
