House fire on the Northside leaves firefighters struggling

A stubborn fire caused some serious damage, and a serious headache for firefighters.

Fire companies arrived in 400 block of Basswood Dr. early Saturday to find that house in flames.

Crews on the scene said they had a hard time fighting the fire because of the amount of items the house contained.

There was no one in the house at time.

According to neighbors the residents of the house were out of town.

The estimated damages of the fire are $70,000.

Fire crews say the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
