SAN ANTONIO -

San Antonio police said it’s possible that Kevin Esparza, 52, could face additional charges in a case involving a hidden camera in his North side home.

Police arrested him early Wednesday morning on a charge of improper photography.

They said a house guest told them she discovered the hidden camera as she prepared to take a shower in Esparza’s home in the 100 block of Sharon Drive.

The woman told detectives she found it when she attempted to play some music by plugging her cell phone into what appeared to be stereo speakers in the bathroom.

“She noticed the speakers didn't look right,” said Officer Matthew Porter, spokesman for SAPD. “She turned over the speaker box, noticed that there was an SD card."

Police said the woman took out the memory card and placed it into her computer, where she discovered several images of herself in the nude.

Porter said she told detectives she and Esparza are strictly friends, and that she has been staying with him off and on since 2005.

She also told investigators she did not give him permission to take the pictures, Porter said.

“There was a search warrant served on his house. There was evidence collected. Detectives are going through that evidence at this time,” Porter said.

One of the things they’re trying to determine, Porter said, is whether there may be more victims.

Depending on what investigators find, more charges could be filed against Esparza, he said.
