Police say car ripped in two after striking bridge

SAN ANTONIO -

A suspected speeding car slammed into a bridge and split in half on I-10 late Friday night.

That crash sent the woman driving and a passenger to the hospital.

The crash happened just before midnight on I-10 West at Huebner.

Police say the woman was apparently speeding when she hit the edge of a bridge.

That impact tore the car in two.

Firefighters had to cut the victims from the wreckage.

EMS took them to University Hospital in unknown condition.

Investigators say alcohol might be a factor in the crash.
