I-37 South at Loop 410 shut down after chemical spill
Hazmat crews cleaning up after big rollover on southeast side of city
Hazardous material crews are on the scene of a chemical spill on the southeast side of the city.
According to authorities, a big rig carrying 4,000 gallons of sodium hydroxide rolled over at the I-37 South and Loop 410 Southeast interchange a little after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Crews don't expect to have the area cleaned up until early Wednesday morning.
Officials initially closed down two ramps and called for HazMat crews. They later closed all lanes of I-37 South.
It was not immediately known how much sodium hydroxide was spilled, or if any diesel fuel also spilled.
There were no initial reports of any injuries.
KSAT-TV has a crew on the scene and will have the very latest on the Nightbeat and KSAT.com
