SAN ANTONIO -

Extra security to get inside the Bexar County courthouse meant longer lines of people waiting outside.

"I think it's just demoralizing," Vera Steves said. "I mean it's unfortunate that we have to do this, but you know, people need to be safe."

Steves and others who waiting in the traffic jam Tuesday morning said they think tighter security is a good idea even if it means a few extra minutes in line.

"No. I don't mind, because if this is what we have to do, so be it," Josie Valdez said.

Michael Shaner said he was not concerned about being at the courthouse, but thought extra precautions were wise.

"It doesn't bother me at all," he said. "You've got crazy people out there everywhere. You never know."
