Johnny Reyes accused of using drive-thru to enter, rob Jack in the Box on Culebra Road
San Antonio police: Johnny Reyes, 29, told estranged wife about crime
Johnny Reyes, 29, is accused of climbing through the drive-thru window of a Northwest Side Jack in the-Box restaurant and robbing employees last week.
San Antonio police said they were able to identify Reyes after getting a call from his estranged wife Tuesday.
The woman told detectives she feared for her life because Reyes threatened to kill her if she told anyone what he had done, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
Police believe Reyes and another man placed an order for food Nov. 28 at the Jack in the Box in the 9600 block of Culebra Road, the affidavit stated.
Once an employee opened the drive-thru window, Reyes and the other man forced their way in and robbed workers at gunpoint, demanding money from the registers and a safe, the affidavit stated.
Detectives later showed a surveillance photo to Reyes’ estranged wife and she was able to identify him as the man involved in the robbery, the affidavit stated.
Reyes is charged with two counts of aggravated robbery in connection with the Jack in the Box robbery and another case. Details of that second robbery were not immediately known.
Reyes was booked into jail Wednesday with bonds totaling $60,000.
