Metro Health finds rodent, roach problems at 2 Mexican eateries

SAN ANTONIO -

A stolen mop sink and a rodent infestation were among the violations that led to failing health scores at two San Antonio Mexican restaurants.

Emmy's Mexican Restaurant on 6938 W. Military Drive failed their latest inspection with 37 demerits.

KSAT Behind the Kitchen Door called the owner of Emmy's and did not get a call back, however, the restaurant was open again which indicates pest control and other changes were made.

La Quintana Mexican Restaurant on 1402 Quintana Road failed their inspection with 35 demerits, including three points because the mop sink behind the restaurant was stolen and is required.

The owner tells KSAT Behind the Kitchen Door the health inspector returned last Monday. He says they replaced the mop sink, are using gloves to make food and have made all other corrections.
