Lake Truck Lines moved to San Antonio to get in on Eagle Ford Shale oil boom
Lake Truck Lines owner claims business has grown over 300 percent
A year after Lake Truck Lines, an oil field trucking company, moved to San Antonio from Houston, their business has grown by 300 percent, according to owner Douglas Cain.
Cain said his company provides everything from cementing products to drilling products to transportation of drilling fluids.
Cain has gone from a couple of employees to more than 70, and has had to add about 60 trucks to make all of the deliveries.
One of those employees is Director of Safety Terry Place. "Mr. Cain was gracious enough to give me the challenge of (creating) a safety department and we've done that," Place said.
After a year in Florida, Place returned to Texas with no job, but was hired three days after stepping off the plane.
Cain will be expanding with a new business: Lake Oil Field Services.
Due to his expansion, Cain said he will be moving the company's administration buildings from a double-wide trailer to a high-rise building on Loop 410 with 5,000 square feet of office space.
Cain says they're doing whatever they can to help the economy.
