Nicholas Saldana, 22, was arrested in connection with the beating death of a transmission shop owner on the West Side in December.
Saldana had been on the run since Dec. 5 before being captured by the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force.
Police believe Saldana was the main actor in the beating death of 58-year-old Jose Medrano.
The victim owned a transmission shop in the 2000 Block of Castroville Road.
Saldana and two other men, who had already been arrested, allegedly used a baseball bat to beat Medrano and his 27-year-old son.
It's believed the beating was the result of an ongoing dispute between one of Medrano's younger sons and one of the other suspects that involved a woman.
Police had previously arrested 25-year-old David Lee Garcia and 32-year-old Herman Matamoros for their alleged roles in the beating death of Medrano.
Saldana has been charged with one count of murder and one count of aggravated assault.
