Pickup slams into back of 18-wheeler

SAN ANTONIO -

A major accident shuts down the westbound lanes of Highway 90 near Texas Research Parkway.

Accident investigators said around 10:15 a.m. on Friday, an 18-wheeler carrying lumber apparently pulled out of a construction site and onto the highway and a red pickup truck slammed into it from behind.

The driver was not seriously hurt, but his female passenger was.

She was taken by medical helicopter to University Hospital.
