SAN ANTONIO -

A man is now facing DWI and other charges after he crashed into an SAPD officer's car.

The incident happened just after 2 a.m. Saturday at the corner of of W. Poplar and Hamilton.

Police say the officer turned on to Poplar and spotted another car driving right at him.

They say he stopped but the other car did not, and slammed into the officer's vehicle.

The impact damaged a tire on the SAPD car and the other driver took off.

Police say they found him a short distance away.

They say that man will now face DWI charges, and be charged with leaving the scene of an accident.

The officer wasn't hurt.
