A man who slashed a teen in the head was arrested after the boy showed up at the jail asking for help, police say.

The teenager came to the jail just before 1:30 a.m. Sunday.

He said he'd been stabbed to the back of the head by his mother's boyfriend in the 1500 block of W. Travis.

Police responded to that location and searched the area before finding the man and arresting him.

They did not say why the man stabbed the teen.

EMS transported the boy to University Hospital for treatment of the stab wound.
