AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — An arrest affidavit says a man accused in the hit-and-run death of a woman in an Austin vehicle collision exchanged punches with a witness and left in a getaway vehicle before being arrested.
The Austin American-Statesman (http://bit.ly/11zytot ) reports 20-year-old Christian Gonzalez-Martinez, who remained Monday in Travis County Jail, has been charged with manslaughter, intoxication manslaughter, intoxication assault, two counts of failure to stop and render aid and aggravated assault. Bail is set at $2.1 million. Jail records did not list an attorney.
A woman driving a sedan was killed and her passenger injured in the Friday crash.
A witness told police he followed the man after the crash and exchanged punches while trying to detain him. The affidavit said the witness saw the man enter a silver vehicle and leave.
