A 35-year-old man was arrested and charged with first-degree murder Thursday in connection with the shooting death of a 23-year-old man.

Andres Alfredo Segovia was jailed shortly before noon.

The charge stems from the June 8 shooting death of 23-year-old Joel Flores, who was found shot to death outside of the Rosemont at University Park Apartments.

Sgt. Javier Salazar of the San Antonio Police Department said a tip led homicide detectives to Segovia early Thursday morning.

"Anytime we can get someone off of the streets that's suspected of being a murderer, that's certainly something we're happy about," Sgt. Salazar said.
