SAN ANTONIO -

A Northeast Side woman says the end of her relationship marked the beginning of a nightmare.

She told Bexar County sheriff’s detectives that her ex-boyfriend, Gabriel Ybarra, 30, has been harassing her with a campaign that included breaking into her home and car and vandalizing them, tormenting her with text messages and threatening to rape her.

Detectives arrested Ybarra on a stalking charge Tuesday. He was booked into the Bexar County jail with bond set at $50,000.

An arrest warrant affidavit stated that the woman filed the first of eight complaints in July, claiming that Ybarra was terrorizing her.

In those reports, she told investigators that her ex-boyfriend had broken into her home and car and taken items from both; spray painted messages on them; and sent her more than 150 text messages. Including one in which he threatened to rape her.

The woman also told detectives that, on one occasion, Ybarra drove past her home and fired several gunshots, the affidavit stated.

On another occasion, the woman said she woke up and found her front door open, leading her to believe that Ybarra had been in her home while she slept, the affidavit stated.
