A 49 year old man is in critical condition after he was shot in the back early Sunday morning.

It happened about 3 a.m. at Buena Vista and S. Zarzamora.

Police say the man was walking down the street when he was shot in the back by someone in a passing car.

We are told the shooter took off.

The victim was taken to University Hospital in critical condition.
