Man dies after apparent drive-by shooting in west San Antonio
San Antonio police: Shooting on West Laurel possibly drug-related
A 39-year-old man died minutes after he was shot outside a West Side home during an apparent drive-by, San Antonio police said. The victim was identified early Friday as Isreal Pacheco.
Shots were fired around 8:30 p.m. Thursday in the 2200 block of West Laurel.
Investigators said Pacheco was shot in the chest and arm area. He was taken to the hospital, but died just after 9 p.m. Police believe the shooting is drug-related.
"When we first moved in, they said it was fine. Now I don't know, I fear for my life to be around this neighborhood," said Eddie Arriola.
Arriola said Pacheco appeared to be a nice person. "To me he's not a problem person, he always comes on his bike and rides off on his bike,"said Arriola.
Police said the shooter fled the scene in a dark colored sedan. No arrest had been made as of 3 a.m. Friday.
