Man shot during attempted robbery at Murphy's gas station on Southeast Military
Victim had just turned 21, expected to recover; Suspect at large
A man who had just turned 21-years-old was shot during an attempted robbery at a Murphy's USA gas station on Southeast Military Drive late Tuesday night, San Antonio police say.
Investigators said around 11 p.m., a man walked up to the victim's truck at the gas station and demanded everything he had.
The victim sped away, but left the door open. Police said the suspect opened fire and hit the victim in the left leg. The bullet ricocheted and hit the other leg as well.
The victim still managed to drive to a nearby restaurant to call for help. Police said the suspect fled on foot. As of 8 a.m., no arrests had been announced.
