A man was critically wounded when he was shot at a crowded West Side park Tuesday night.

The shooting happened in Woodlawn Park located in the 1100 Block of Cincinnati Avenue just after 8:30 p.m.

They found a man in his 30s lying on the ground with a single gunshot wound, police said. The man was taken by EMS to University Hospital in critical condition.

His girlfriend told police they were at the park with her child when they noticed two men walking past them several times.

The boyfriend asked the two what they wanted and they asked him if he was looking for trouble.

One of the men pulled out a gun, police said.

The boyfriend asked, "What are you going to do -- shoot me?"

The man fired a shot into the boyfriend's stomach, then took off with the other guy.

The two were last seen running from the park.
