Pasadena police search for man after 10-year-old girl says she escaped attacker

PASADENA, Texas (AP) — Pasadena police are searching for a man who grabbed a 10-year-old girl and tried to pull off her clothing before she was able to escape.

Police say the girl told police the man grabbed her early Tuesday evening while she was playing near the apartment complex where she lives.

Authorities say the man forced her to the ground and tried to pull off her clothing, but she was able to break free and ran home.

The Houston Chronicle reports that the attacker wore gloves and had a black nylon stocking over his head.

Pasadena is located about 15 miles southeast of Houston.
