Police in Converse have caught up with Marcine Moore, 41, who they said went on the run months ago with furniture that belonged to a Rent-a-Center.
According to the arrest warrant affidavit, police obtained an arrest warrant for Moore in October in connection with what began several months prior to that.
The affidavit stated that Moore had signed a contract with the business in February, promising to pay about $1,800 to rent some furniture.
However, after making an initial payment, Moore failed to comply with the contract, the affidavit stated.
When company employees later went to Moore’s home looking for the furniture, they learned she had moved, the affidavit stated.
A manager then called several of Moore’s references and tracked down a new address for her, the affidavit stated.
Police arrested Moore Friday on charges of theft and hindering a secured creditor.
