SAN ANTONIO -

A Marine recently home from Afghanistan has several items stolen Saturday afternoon within hours of returning to San Antonio.

He had just flown into to San Antonio and went to have lunch with his family at Mamacita's Restaurant off Interstate 10. The Marine left most of his personal items inside his cousin's truck in the restaurant parking lot.

"Straight from the airport, we came here for lunch," said Yvonne Peres, the Marine's mother. "We came here to have lunch and while we were having lunch, my nephew's truck got broken into."

Among the stolen items were his laptop and his orders, but what hurts him the most is that his friend and fellow Marine's dog-tags were also stolen. A fellow marine who was killed in Afghanistan.

"He doesn't care about any of the monetary items, but the dog tags," Yvonne said."And, he had some videos of himself and the other Marines on a hard drive of the laptop that he had with him."

"I'm not to worried about my truck," said Michael Martinez, the Marine's cousin. "My main focus in on my cousin. This can be fixed, but something like that really can't be."

The Marine was planning on having a memorial service for the fallen Marine in California, where he was going to return the dog-tags to his friend's family.

The Peres family is asking whoever took the tags to please return them to any fire station, no questions asked.
