SAN ANTONIO -

A son his now charged with aggravated assault after police said he killed his father with an ax.

Police say Marshall Giles Jr. attacked his own father with the ax late Wednesday night during a violent dispute at their home in the 1900 block of E. Crockett.

They say he repeatedly hacked at Marshall Giles Sr.'s head, leaving him covered in blood.

EMS rushed the victim to San Antonio Military Medical Center in critical condition, where he later died.

Police found Marshall Giles Jr. hiding in a crawl space and arrested him.

They say when they told him about the charges he'd be facing, he smiled.

He's now charged with aggravated assault and has a $100,000 bond, but that charge could be upgraded.
