SAN ANTONIO -

Guest and staff at the Menger Hotel in downtown San Antonio were forced to evacuate Wednesday night after reports of smoke coming from several rooms.

San Antonio fire crews found light smoke on the fourth and fifth floors just after 7 p.m.

Evacuated guests were allowed back into the hotel about 15 minutes later.

San Antonio fire officials say the smoke likely came from the kitchen and reached the hotel's upper floors because of a missing ceiling tile.
