Metro Health and cafécollege offer vaccines to uninsured college students
All Texas college students are required to show proof of a meningococcal vaccination
The City of San Antonio Metropolitan Health District will administer free meningitis vaccines to college-bound students who are enrolled in cafécollege.
It’s a requirement, as of this year, that college and university students show proof of a meningococcal vaccination or a booster within the last five years. The immunization must occur at least 10 days before the start of the semester.
Students who are currently enrolled in cafécollege are eligible for a voucher for a no-cost meningitis vaccine at Metro Health. Students will need to check their medical records to determine if they need the vaccine or a booster.
Cafécollege is a place for students and parents to get advice and guidance for college.
You can find more information on Metro Health’s website through cafécollege at 207-4528.
