Missing elderly El Paso couple found safe about 85 miles away near Sierra Blanca

EL PASO, Texas (AP) — West Texas police have located an elderly El Paso couple about 85 miles away from home after relatives reported the husband and wife were missing.

El Paso police say 75-year-olds Ricardo and Martha Irma Beltran were found safe late Monday night near Sierra Blanca. Police say the Beltrans "appear OK" and did not immediately released additional details.

Police early Monday asked for the public's help in locating the couple, who were last seen Saturday at their residence. The couple told relatives that they were going for a drive. The Beltrans were known to take trips to the desert.

Police were especially concerned because Ricardo Beltran has unspecified medical issues.
