More charges filed against man accused of videotaping customers
Jose Montiel, 17, faces three new charges of improper photography
A department store worker accused of videotaping a woman in a dressing room is facing additional charges related to other customers.
Live Oak police arrested Jose Montiel, 17, in June after a woman at a Kohl’s store in The Forum Shops told them she saw someone using an iPhone to videotape her while she tried on clothes in the dressing room.
The woman told officers that she and the store’s janitor were the only people in the dressing room at the time, according to an arrest warrant affidavit.
At the time of the arrest, police seized Montiel’s cell phone, the affidavit stated.
Detectives reviewed the video and still pictures on the phone, and said they found images of other women, also taken while they were in the dressing room, the affidavit stated.
Police identified some of the women in the photos and contacted them. All of them said they wanted to press criminal charges against Montiel, the affidavit stated.
