SAN ANTONIO -

A motorcyclist was injured and nearly lost thousands of dollars after crashing on Loop 410 near Callaghan.

San Antonio police said the rider, age 29 or 30, told them he was heading East on Loop 410 just before the Callaghan exit when he hit a piece of a tire on the road causing him to crash.

During the crash, a green bag from the bike containing at least $4,000 rolled onto the highway.

The victim told police he had just sold another bike along with cashing his tax refund and had the money with him before the crash.

Police were able to recover the bag which did not open after the crash.

The rider was taken to a hospital with a possible leg injury.
