SAN ANTONIO -

A motorcyclist lost control of his bike and crashed on the North Side late Monday night.

Witnesses told San Antonio police the motorcyclist was driving recklessly and speeding along McCarty Road and Lorene before the accident.

The motorcyclist lost control of the bike, was ejected and suffered serious leg injuries and severe road rash.

The motorcycle skidded for nearly 40 feet before it came to a stop.

The motorcyclist was taken to University Hospital for treatment. Police said no other vehicles were involved in the accident. There was no word if alcohol was a factor.
