Northside Independent School District trustees met Tuesday evening to hear a proposal from staff that school taxes not be increased next year.

The staff presented a proposal that would keep the current tax rate at $1.3755 per $100 valuation, district officials said.

NISD trustees accepted the proposal and will vote on the tax rate on Aug. 28, officials said.
