SAN ANTONIO -

Rain is likely to continue across the San Antonio and Bexar County areas through Saturday, according to KSAT 12 Chief Meteorologist Steve Browne and the National Weather Service.

KSAT 12 Chief Meteorologist Steve Browne says an upper-level low in New Mexico made its way to Texas, causing the atmosphere to lift, which set the stage for showers and thunderstorms. The National Weather Service reports some of the storms could produce heavy rainfall.

Friday's high will near 81 with an 80 percent chance of rain. Friday night there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms with a low around 70.

According to the National Weather Service, there is a 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms all day Saturday with a high near 85 and a low around 70. The skies are expected to start drying out Sunday afternoon, Steve Browne said.
